Standing up for the Victims of Sexual Violence in Tigray

On the eve of international women’s day, we are publishing a call from 15 women’s organizations to the United Nations to provide the services so desperately needed by survivors of conflict-related sexual violence in Tigray.

Their needs are particularly urgent, not only because of the scale of the crimes perpetrated against them, but because the Ethiopian government continues to impose a blockade on humanitarian assistance to Tigray

Read the full appeal.

Tomorrow we publish the account of Tigrayan psychologist who is working with the survivors of rape, highlighting the suffering they have endured, their continuing trauma and material needs, and the efforts of local volunteers to help.
